THE PARENTING JOURNEY PROGRAM

Sackville-Bedford Early Intervention also offers the Parenting Journey Program, for families who may need additional supports as they travel along the pathways of parenting and especially during challenging times.

  • The program is free and voluntary for families with children between 3 to 16 years old.

  • Families decide to participate or withdraw at anytime.

  • Families and the home visitor partner to identify the family’s areas of strength build upon their knowledge and identify areas for further development, growth and support.

Together with families, the home visitor may offer support with…

·         building relationships within the family

·         managing behaviours

·         child and youth development and discipline

·         school attendance

·         moving through a divorce/separation

·         co-parenting

·         information about other programs which are available in your community

·         make referrals to other programs on behalf of a family

…..and much more…

Families decide what aspects of their life they need support with and with the home visitor create a plan to move toward change and reaching those goals!

Referrals can come directly from parents or from other programs and organizations.
